Tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, after two days of silence, commented on the death of ex-hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, with whom she had a close relationship. On her Instagram account, she responded with a short post in two languages - English and Russian.

"Kostya's death is an unthinkable tragedy, and while we were no longer together, my heart is broken. Please respect my privacy and his family's privacy during this difficult time," Sabalenka wrote.

Former Belarus national hockey player Konstantin Koltsov died in Miami on March 18 at the age of 42 after falling from a balcony. The cause of death is believed to be suicide. His ex-wife says it was probably an accident.

After Koltsov's death, Aryna Sabalenka first withdrew from the tennis tournament in Miami. But then she decided to play there, although she limited contacts with the press.
