Shushkevich, Yushchenko become honorable doctors of Lublin University
Former Belarus leader Stanislau Shushkevich has received a degree of the honorable doctor at the John Paul II Catholic University in the Polish city of Lublin. An official award ceremony took place in the framework of the celebrations to mark 440 years since the Union of Lublin.
Apart from Shushkevich, the degree was awarded to Ukraine's president Victor Yushchenko, Poland's president Lech Kaczynski, Lithuanian president Valdas Adamkus as well the presidents of Latvia and Estonia who were represented by their diplomatic envoys during the ceremony, reports the press office of the Ukrainian president.
