Mikalai Statkevich, former political prisoner, held today a regular meeting with the voters, this time it took place on the Freedom Square in Minsk. It started at 18:00 hours. He also invited Aliaksandr Lukashenka, the incumbent president and presidential candidate. For him Statkevich prepared sharp questions.
For the previous such meeting with the voters, which was held in Minsk near GUM, the court fined Mikalai Statkevich 7 million 200 thousand rubles, as the rally was unauthorized.
In an interview with Euroradio, the CEC chairwoman Lidziya Yarmoshyna said that the dispersal of today's rally of Statkevich would have a negative impact on the assessment of the presidential elections.
