Tennis: Sharapova No 2 of Belarus stars at tournament in St Claire
14-year-old Daria Sharapova of Belarus, a distant relative of ex-world's number one tennis player Maria Sharapova, has become the most popular player of the junior ITF series tournament in St Claire, the United States. Despite being defeated in the quarter-final by Canada's Emma Anila 4:6, 4:6, Daria grabbed love of the public by her aggressive play style which resembles the one of older Sharapova.
The Russian sports web site LiveSport notes that Sharapova No2 is rated 569th on the list of juniors and was seed No 3 at the tournament in the United States.
