Will meeting of Belarusians of the world take place in Minsk?
The fifth meeting of Belarusians of the world appointed for July 18 and 19 may take place in Minsk. It seems that the problems aroused by the reluctance of owners to lease premises have been solved.
This is what the head of the association of Belarusians of the world “Motherland” Ales Marachkin said: “Alena Makouskaya has phoned me and said that the issue is being solved here in Minsk”.
About 20 institutions and organizations have already refused to lease premises needed for the meeting to “Motherland”.
However, the solution to the problem of renting premises in Minsk leads to another problem – not everyone will be able to come to Minsk.
Ales Marachkin: “If the meeting took place in Vilnius or in Ukraine (I have discussed it with Ivonka Survila), she would come. And I think that Zyanon Paznyak would also come for sure. But they will not come to Minsk”.
