5 youth activists detained in Minsk on Solidarity Day
Five activists of the steering committee on the creation of the “Young Belarus” movement have been detained in Minsk. One of the detained – the leader of the steering committee Artur Finkevich – has informed the BelaPAN agency about it on the phone. A.Fіnkevіch, Ales Stsepanenka, Valer Sakovіch, Syarhei Kastylenka and Aleh Keralyany were detained in the courtyard of Belarusian Sate University.
Activists were distributing leaflets containing information about missing Belarusian politicians among students. The leaflets reminded that the 16th day of every month was a day of solidarity with the families of the missing people.
Activists were detained by people in plain clothes and delivered to Maskouski District Department of the Interior. Finkevich does not know what the detained are accused of.
