8-year-old boy saves drowning girl's life in Vaukavysk

An eight-year-old boy has rescued a drowning girl in the district town of Vaukavysk in western Belarus.
Maxim and his neighbor Karalina went for a walk to Ros River which runs near their houses. They were playing and throwing sticks into water. When the girl wanted to pick a stick from the ice, she broke through into water. She could not swim.

The boy first wanted to run and call for help, but eventually decided not to waste time and pulled his friend out of the freezing river. It was girls's birthday.
