Activists in Homel arrested, fined
Homel's Central District Court on March 25 sentenced Belarusian Christian Democracy activist Kastus Zhukouski to three days of arrest and Siarhei Tryfanau to a Br1050000 fine. The young men were detained by the police at 5 a.m. on March 25 and appeared in court today. At the hearing, police officers said that the activists were detained on the roof of a multi-storey building on Lenin Avenue. The young men were charged with violating the public order. The activist said at the trial that they simply wanted to enjoy nice views from the top of the building.
Today in the morning, a state flag was removed from the building of the regional commercial court and replaced with a national white-red-white flag. The police attempted to accuse the detained activists but were unable to prove as the youngsters were detained on the roof of another building.
