Alyaksandr Lukashenka: Russia’s influence on post-Soviet territory is decreasing
The influence of Russia on the post-Soviet territory is decreasing, thinks the Belarusian President. By the way, Mr. Lukashenka has agreed with the thesis of a journalist of an Austrian newspaper Die Presse. The Belarusian leader gave an interview to the edition last Monday. BelTA quotes Alyaksandr Lukashenka: “There is China that has the world’s second economy now and will become first tomorrow. They lack energy supplies. Where are the energy supplies? The neighbouring states have them. Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. They have already built their pipe-lines there.
They all supply them to China and will soon start doing it for India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is involved in it. It is a step back from the Russian dependence on energy supplies. And it concerns Europe too”, - said Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
Answering the question whether Belarus regretted the decrease of Russian influence, the President noted: “Let Russia regret it”.
