Andrei Bandarenka transferred from Shklou colony to Mahilyou prison
Imprisoned human rights defender Andrei Bandarenka will be transferred from Shklou colony to Mahilyou prison. The decision was made on December 17, director of the private consultation service Region 119 Alena Krasouskaya-Kaspyarovich told BelaPAN.
The regime will be stricter for Bandarenka in prison because he had some freedom of movement in colony, she added. He will be locked up in a prison cell and will go for a walk for only two hours a day now.
Bandarenka was returned guilty of hooliganism, malicious hooliganism and very malicious hooliganism in 2014. He was imprisoned for 4 years. The term was reduced to 3 years after an amnesty.
Bandarenka had conflicts with prisoners in Babruisk colony #2. That is why the imprisoned human rights defender was transferred to Shklou. However, he received the same ‘low status’ there. Bandarenka asked the colony administration to send him to a safer place many times. They usually put him in a disciplinary cell.
