Arrested Cameroon footballer's girlfriend plans picket near detention center in Minsk

The girlfriend of Cameroon sportsman Gui Fransois Tukama -- the guy was detained by Belarus border guards about a month ago -- is heading to Minsk. She seems so desperate that she plans to stage a picket near the detention center where the boyfriend has been detained in Belarus capital.  The Cameroon-born goalkeeper of a Norwegian futsal side is expecting deportation, said local human rights lawyer Valyatsin Stefanovich. "The girlfriend is absolutely confused. She keeps sending letters to us and is even going to come here to demand his release", he said.

Mr Stefanovich today had a phone conversation with diplomats from the Cameroon embassy in Moscow. They claim the documents requesting his release and confirming his passport details were sent to Belarus long time ago. But Belarus border services have not received those papers.
