Belarus is negotiating a $500 million loan with the Russian Sberbank. The issue was raised on July 3, when Chairman of the Board of Sberbank German Gref arrived in Minsk.
The manager did not comment on the negotiations. The figure of $0.5 billion was voiced by ONT correspondent Hanna Pyzh on the air of the program "Two from the Palace".
On July 3, German Gref came to Minsk to open a music fountain on the Svislach River together with Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
"We have a lot of projects for the next five years. If Sberbank is ready to participate in this big business, I will only be happy to welcome you here to finance large volumes of our economy," Gref said.
"Sberbank is already implementing projects in Minsk. In particular, in 2017 Gref's company bought the most famous Minsk long-building hotel "Nekempinski" in Gorky Park for 2 Belarusian rubles. The building is planned to be completed by the end of 2020 (already as an office center).
