Belarus not invited to observe Crimean referendum and elections in Ukraine
CEC secretary Mikalai Lazavik reckons the organizers have simply no time to think about observers at the moment.
The Crimean referendum will be held on March 16. The presidential election in Ukraine is scheduled for May 25.
The organizers of the referendum and election have no time for observers now, Lazavik told BelaPAN. They need to solve their internal organizational issues first. The CEC usually invites observers a month before the election campaign, he noted.
At the same time, short-term observers may still be invited to Crimea a week before the referendum, the official added.
