Belarus refuses to cooperate on criminal case against Catholic priest
The Belarusian Prosecutor
General's Office rejected a request by Lithuanian investigators to question Belarusian Catholic priest Juozas
Bulka, Interfax reported.
Lithuanian prosecutors accuse Bulka of cooperation with the Soviet authorities in the 1950s. He allegedly gave away anti-Soviet guerrillas known as Forest Brothers.
The priest denies the charges. He is known for establishing Belarus' only museum against alcohol abuse and a liquor-free zone in Mosar.
In 2005, Bulka was the first Catholic priest given the For Spiritual Rebirth award.
