Belarusian Chernobyl disaster fighters to meet with Pope Francis
Pope Francis will grant an audience to Chernobyl disaster fighters in the Vatican on April 20. About 50 Belarusian and Ukrainian disaster fighters are expected to take part in the meeting, Minsk and Mahilyou Archbishop Tadeush Kandrusevich said at a press conference.
Hierarch including Kandrusevich will be present at the audience together with Chernobyl disaster fighters, the official website of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus reports.
The pontiff’s meeting with disaster fighters will be dated for the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.
Pope Francis resorts to environmental problems quite often.
