Belarusian Minister of Sports: our athletes will show their best results in Beijing

Belarusian athletes will show their best results at Beijing Olympics as compared to the whole history of participation of Belarusians as a team in the Olympic Games. The statement was made by the Minister of Sports and Tourism Alyaksandr Hryharau. He made a speech during the ceremony of seeing-off the Belarusian sports delegation to the Olympic Games in Beijing. He reminded that the biggest number of medals had been won by the Belarusian team at Sidney Olympics in 2000. 17 medals including 3 gold medals were received at that time.

It will be the biggest Belarusian Olympic delegation so far. 182 sportsmen in 26 kinds of sport will go to Beijing, reports “Nasha Niva”.
