Belneftekhim: Russia has not made offers to buy Belarusian refineries

Russia has not made no official moves to acuire the Belarusian oil refineries, Belneftekhim CEO Andrey Rybakou told BELTA.

The rumours about Russia considering the possibility of buying Belarusian oil-processing plants appeared in the Russian Telegram channels and were distributed by mass media. It was said that Russia was going to compensate for the tax manoeuvre to Belarus this way. Rybakou has refused to comment on the rumours: “Officials comments will be given only when official information is available and official suggestions are made.”

The compensation for the tax manoeuvre was discussed at a meeting with the President, Belneftekhim CEO said. Alyaksandr Lukashenka demanded that the compensation mechanisms should not affect ordinary Belarusian citizens.
