Biathlon Junior World Championships start in Minsk (video)
A festive opening ceremony was conducted in Minsk State Flag Square on February 17.
The first competitions will start in Raubichy on February 18. A festive opening ceremony of the Biathlon Junior World Championships was held in Minsk State Flag Square yesterday. Natallya Kachanava, Belarusian deputy PM, took part in it.
Teenagers aged under 19 and juniors aged under 21 will take part in the championships. 16 sets of medals (individual race, sprint, pursuit and relay race) will be awarded. Girls aged under 19 will take part in a 10-km individual race today, BELTA reports. Boys aged under 19 will take part in a 12.5-km race.
All the races will be broadcast live on Belarus-5.
