Cult musician Lou Reed died
He had a complicated surgery on liver transplantation this spring. However, the reason for death is unknown yet.
Musician Lou Reed died in the United States at the age of 70. One of the founders of the alternative rock and leader of the The Velvet Underground had a surgery on liver transplantation in May. However, the official reason for his death has not been informed yet.
Lou Reed (Lewis Allan Rabinovic) was born in the family of Russian natives. He took up the name Lou Reed and created the band called The Velvet Underground in mid-60s. The band did not exist for long and had no commercial success, but influenced the further development of music greatly.
In 1971, Reed started a solo career, during which he cooperated with David Bowie, Elton John, Yes. In 1995 he recorded the Songs for Drella CD in cooperation with John Cale. They dedicated the album to The Velvet Underground producer, artist Andy Warhol. The musician's last album saw the light back in 2007. Four years later, Reed recorded a joint album with Metallica.
