Czech Prime Minister: EU’s patience in gas conflict is exhausted
The patience of the EU in the gas conflict of Russia and Ukraine is exhausted, claimed the Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek after a meeting with the head of the Slovakian government Robert Fico in Prague on January 16.
Meanwhile, France Press informs that the terms of creation of a gas consortium have been discussed in Berlin. Terms of allocating money to Ukraine so that it could buy technical gas from Russia were discussed by German, Italian and French companies. It is necessary to organize supplies of Russian gas to Europe. Kiev claimed that it could not pay for technical gas.
Experts have noted the change in the rhetoric of the Russian administration. V.Putin has urged the EU “to help Ukrainian partners” and not to blame any side for the gas conflict and not to politicize the dispute of Moscow and Kiev.
A meeting of EU member states suffering from the suspension of gas supplies will take place in Moscow on January 17. The Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski is expected to take part in it.
