Day of Belarus military glory to be marked in Warsaw
A march to mark Belarus' military victory over Moscow near Orsha will be held on September 8 in Warsaw. The event is organized by the Belarusian National Memory group. "We have organized marches on this day since 2006 in order to demonstrate that we remember and are proud of the glorious warriors of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Our task is to remain strong, to remember our past and to work for and to build an independent Belarus", organizer Anatol Mikhnavets told the European Radio for Belarus.
Participants will gather at 1700 near the Charles de Gaule monument in central Warsaw and will then proceed through the city center to a memorial sign at the site where General Stanislau Bulak-Balachovich died.
Organizers call on the participants to come with the national symbols.
