Death penalty may be cancelled to join European Council
The Belarusian Attorney General Ryhor Vasilevich does not exclude the fact that death penalty may be cancelled in Belarus to join the European Council. “This is one of the terms of the European Council, it is a rule. If we want to join it we have to accept the existing rules”, - said Vasilevich.
However, the existence of such a penalty is defensible is our country now, thinks the Attorney General. At the same time, he noticed a steady tendency towards the decrease of the number of capital sentences in Belarus, informs “Belarusian News”.
