Demand for Viagra grows in Belarus
Russia also reports a significant growth in demand for Viagra, which traditionally ranks the second or the third among the drug sales leaders. In Belarus, too, Viagra is No 3 after cardiovascular and febrifuge treatment drugs. Volha, who runs a drug supplies department at the Belarus Pharmacy, a state-owned medicine seller, has commented to the European Radio for Belarus on this issue.
“The international name for this drug is Sildenafil Citrate, which naturally takes a certain segment of the market. Demand for it is periodical. As a rule, the sales of Viagra soar ahead of holidays or festivity seasons. If compared with cardiovascular, anti-inflammatory or febrifuge medicines, Viagra follows rights after them,” she said.
In 2006, the Ukrainians spent over $10 million to buy Viagra! The name “Viagra” is a combination of “Vigor” (strength, energy) and “Niagara” (the most powerful waterfall in the North America).
But the discovery of this drug appears to be even more interesting. Initially, it was developed as a medicine for angina, with an additional effect discovered accidentally. In 1992, researchers confirmed the valuable by-effects.
The world has given a true respect to this discovery. In 1998, the researchers who identified the secrets of Viagra were awarded with the Nobel Prize.
We gave a good amount of time to think who among the Belarusian celebrities could admit to using Viagra. We decided to turn to Aliaksandar Kulinkovic, the frontman of the Neuro Dubel band. Unfortunately, our hopes for his confession did not come true. However, Aliaksandar promised to try the famous blue tabs.
“You know, I have never tried it. But I really die to try it! They promise a wonderful effect, a thunderstorm. Surely, I’d like to try it. Moreover, I asked my girlfriend to present me with a Viagra tablet on March 8.
In my view, any man lives for a woman. This drug helps him be more enjoyable for his woman,” Kulinkovic said.
But pharmacists do not share this point of view and do not advise to envy those who are forced to use Viagra.
“I would not give even the third place to this drug. And this makes me feel good, because it displays that we have a healthy male population,” said a female staff of one of the pharmacies in Minsk.
Remember that doctors do not advise to use Viagra to those who do not have a need of its “wonder” effect. They maintain that one can become addictive to this drug, if using it without any reason.
In some cases, it is better to resort to alternatives. In the view of the Nigerian scientists, chocolate is even better than Viagra in terms of stimulating the sexual arousal. Coco beans do not have by-effects. They are the best anti-oxidants and are good for the prevention of heart attacks, hypertension and diabetes.
One can also turn to the ancient but proved traditional methods. For instance, celery has long been known as an excellent means to fight impotence. You could also try a mixture of milk and carrots.
