4 Ebola suspects cleared at Minsk airport
Four people with high temperature from Ebola-hit countries had to pass screening on arrival in Minsk but were eventually cleared by health officials.
Whenever Ebola is suspected, the passengers are taken to infectious diseases hospital. Students from Nigeria and Congo keep arriving to Belarus, the National Airport first-aid post reports.
Medic: “I sent two people to the infectious diseases hospital during my last shift. We measure everyone’s temperature here and examine their mucous membranes. They may leave if everything is okay. We sent 2 people to the infectious diseases hospital in August and 2 more people not long ago.”
EVD is a deadly disease – up to 90% infected people die. The virus was revealed almost 40 years ago but there is still no vaccine.
