European Parliament confirms Barroso’s appointment for second term
The European Parliament has confirmed the appointment of José Manuel Barroso as President of the European Commission – the highest legislative organ of the European Union.
Barroso has occupied the position since 2004 and will stay in it for the second term. Leaders of all EU member states unanimously supported his candidature this June. They did not consider other candidates, informs AFP.
