First monument to communism victims opened in Poland (photo)

The first monument to victims of communism in 1928-1989 has been created in Łódź, Poland, opposite the former office of the regional department of the Security Service. The monument is an eagle flying over “wounded” land with parts of barbed wire in its claws, reports “RIA Novosti”.
The monument is dedicated to inhabitants of Western Belarus and Ukraine, victims of the Polish-Bolshevist war of 1919-1920, victims of the tragedy in Katyn, activists of “Solidarity” and victims of the martial law introduced in Poland on the night of December 13, 1981.
