Hrodna police think people cannot embrace without permission
An action “Free Hugs” ended in Soviet Street of Hrodna right after it had started on November 29. About a dozen guys and girls with posters “Let’s Hug” offered free hugs to passers-by. The aim of the action is to arouse positive emotions. Some Hrodna inhabitants were shocked at first, but them they started hugging people and were very happy, informs Hrodna Blog s13.
Participants of “Free Hugs” hardly managed to embrace about 20 people when policemen approached them and told them to stop in a rather rude way. The reason for it was the fact that they had no permission.
By the way, “Free Hugs” is a movement involving individuals who offer hugs to strangers in public places. It was founded by Australian Juan Mann in 2004. The campaign became famous internationally in 2006 as a result of a music video by the Australian band Sick Puppies on YouTube.
