Hubarevich: We expected November 15 to be Election Day
The People’s Referendum will announce its single candidate at the beginning of spring, one of its leaders said.
CEC chairperson has announced the most probable date of the next presidential election – November 15, 2015. Alyaksandr Lukashenka has approved the date preliminarily, Yarmoshyna added.
The opposition expected this date to be announced, deputy head of the movement For Freedom Yuras Hubarevich told Euroradio. The campaign People’s Referendum is getting ready for it:
Hubarevich: "We are conducting negotiations with the structures comprising the People’s Referendum. It is necessary to choose a single opposition candidate. If this is impossible, a candidate will be chosen by the majority of democratic forces in the People’s Referendum.”
The People’s Referendum is going to chose its candidate at the beginning of spring and an active campaign will be started at the beginning of summer. The People’s Referendum keeps collecting signatures for their demands. The number of signatures is close to 100 thousands. The issues discussed by the Propel’s referendum may become the basis for the opposition candidate’s programme, oppositionists think.
