Ice hockey: Mikhail Zakharau a new coach for Team Belarus?
The Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus is expected to announce Mikhail Zakharau as the head coach of Team Belarus in the first days of July.
Mikhail Zakharau is likely to become in charge of Team Belarus, reports Sortbox.ru. He will replace Canada's Glen Hanlon who have signed a new contract with Team Switzerland. If appointed, Zakharau will become the national team's coach for the third time. He headed Team Belarus in 2003-2005 and in 2009-2010.
The 52-year-old has until recently worked as the head coach of HC Yunost Minsk.
Other candidates for this post included the names of Uladzimir Krykunou, Eduard Zankavets and Aleh Mikulchyk.
