Independent press distributor fined

June 3 independent press distributor Barys Hamaida was fined 105 thousand Belarusian roubles (about 26 Eur). According to Hamaida, riot police arrested him on May 7 in Vitebsk, claiming that he spoiled the image of the city. The activist believes the law enforcers were unhappy about Pahonya, the historic code of arms of Belarus, now a symbol of opposition that he had on his table next to the independent newspapers.
