Iryna Khalip's case sent to court for reconsideration
Next week, the court will decide whether to release her, to send her to prison, or to keep her in the same status.
In May 2011, Iryna Khalip was considered guilty of participation in mass disturbances after the presidential election on December 19, 2010. She was sentenced to two years of imprisonment with the delay of the sentence for two years. Since then, she has no right to leave Minsk and is supposed to come to the police department once a week to check, and be at home after 10 p.m.
"When I came to the police for a regular check-up, they told me that my case had been sent to the court, - Iryna Khalip tells BelaPAN news agency. — No notices have come from the court so far. I am waiting. The delay of sentence ends on July 21. However, this is a Sunday so, in theory, the hearing should take place no later than Friday, July 19."
