Lawyer: I hope Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu is alive
The lawyer Tamara Sidarenka has not been provided access to her client Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu so far. He has been kept in the KGB detention center for the 4th day
This means, she says, there have been no official investigation measures. However, she does not exclude that operative investigators meet with him occasionally.
Tamara Sidarenka: When operative investigators come and summon a person saying "We'd like to talk to you", that means there's no need for a lawyer, allegedly. However, a person have a right not to speak with such people without a lawyer. However, when an official investigator of the case summons a person for a conversation, it is forbidden to conduct investigation measures without a lawyer. Thus, I can say for sure that the investigator of the case does not interrogate Nyaklyaeu. Especially, taking into consideration the fact that we call him all the time asking to clarify this or that.
However, she said the investigator had not helped her to obtain access to her client yeasterday, on December 22. According to Tamara Sidarenka, in spite of being the first in a queue of lawyers who were waiting for a meeting with their clients, she wasn't admitted to him. The officer on duty kept saying that both cabinets intended for such meetings were occupied. Tamara Sidarenka has filed a complaint to the General public prosecutor's office in this regard, but there have been no reaction so far.
In spite of all the above, Tamara Sidarenka hopes that the information about Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu's death which appeared yesterday in the social networks is not true.
Tamara Sidarenka: “I hope this is not true, just great mystifications. Besides, they accepted the parcel for him. Moreover, I filed a document to the name of the KGB head, demanding that Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu should be allowed to at least sign a complaint to the address of the election commission. I asked them to assist in this issue as I cannot reach my client. I filed this paper by the end of the day. They accepted it and I haven't noticed great worries on their faces. Maybe it is a secret even for the employees. Maybe they are good actors. In any case, I hope this is not true”.
Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu's lawyer will try to meet with the detained politician once again today. However, she says there is new queue today and all the cabinets are occupied again. It is impossible to predict whether the meeting will take place. However, she will wait in the KGB detention center till the last moment.

Uladzimir Toustsik, the lawyer of the ex-presidential candidate Andrej Sannikau's wife Iryna Khalip, has informed that the lawyers are waiting to be summoned for interrogation.
Uladzimir Toustsik: “We have no information in this regard yet, the investigators have not called any of us. We all are waiting to be summoned for interrogation by the investigators. I haven't been summoned yet, and I have no information whether my client's term of detention will be prolonged or not”.
According to the lawyer, the 72-hours term of preliminary detention without presenting an accusation expires for Iryna Khalip today, on December 23, at 17.00. He hopes to get some information from the investigator by that time.
The lawyers of the KGB prisoners have informed to Euroradio yesterday that the KGB detention center refused to accept parcels for the prisoners. They said they were not authorised to do this until the status of suspects will change for some other. Uladzimir Toustsik thinks this is wrong.
Uladzimir Toustsik: “I do not fully agree that they should not accept parcels. However, these are rules set by someone, not us. I mean, it is allowed to pass parcels to the pre-trial detention center, for some reason. There is a list of things which can be passed, and the time for it, although "all kinds of the detained" are also there".
Uladzimir Toustsik does not think he can predict whether they will accept parcels in case the term of detention is prolonged. However, he added that Iryna Khalip did not even have a toothbrush and other hygienic supplies.

Aleh Aheeu: “If the order remained unchanged, then Monday-Wednesday-Friday are the days for the detainees. Today's Thursday, that means, it will be possible to pass him a parcel in accordance with the existing order. However, their internal instructions change all the time: bosses can order this or that any day. Maybe the order has changes so it is possible to pass him something today. Maybe they accept parcels every day now”.
The lawyer also advised how to solve the situation if the parcels are not taken today.
Aleh Aheeu: “Previously they accepted postage parcels without any limitations. If, for example, they refused to accept a parcel, a person went to the main post office and sent a postage parcel, which arrived to the detention center on that very day. This is how people solved this problem”.
According to Aleh Aheeu, when he told the investigator who worked on Ales Mikhalevich's case that they had not accepted parcels in the detention center, he was really surprised.
