Lost penguin returns to Tbilisi Zoo
The bird swam to Azerbaijan and approached people in search of food.
The runaway penguin from Tbilisi Zoo has been found in Azerbaijan and sent back home. The bird and eight other penguins escaped from the zoo due to the flood on June 14. The other penguins were caught pretty soon. People thought that the ninth bird had died but the penguin was found at a filling station in Azerbaijan a few days later. The penguin approached people in search of food and was sent back to Tbilisi.
19 people died in the flood in Tbilisi on June 14. Half of the zoo animals died. Predators escaped to the city streets. Most of them were caught or killed on the first day. A tiger and a hyena are still missing, newsru.com reports.
