Lukashenka wants Pope, Russian Patriarch to meet in Belarus
Pope Benedict XVI may soon meet with Patriarch of Moscow and the whole Russia Kirill, Alexander Lukashenka said in Rome on Tuesday, summing up his visit to Vatican and Italy. The Belarusisan leader noted that he informed the Pope about his recent encounter with Patriarch Kirill. According to Lukashenka, if the meeting between two heads of the churches does take place, it will happen in Belarus -- not the geographic center of Europe but the country where major Christian confessions meet, reports Interfax
