Lukashenka warns government
Alexander Lukashenka used strong words after hearing the report from the government and the National Bank about the social and economic development of the country in the first quarter of 2009. He promised that "if the government does not fulfill what it promised in the first half of this year, the punishment will be harsh".
The head of the state got an impression that "everyone tries to avoid responsibility for the sake of others". Lukashenka noted that Belarus can have normal export performance indicators, despite the global crisis.
He also stressed that expenditures for healthcare would not be cut, reports Belapan.
