Masty District Executive Committee refuses to create European Integration Council
A deputy of Masty District Council Zmitser Kuhlei suggested that the local district executive committee should create a European Integration Council. However, the head of eth executive committee Alyaksei Shafarevich answered to the elected representative of the people that the creation of such a structure was not planned.
In the deputy’s opinion, the Council would have to deal with the search for foreign investors and propaganda of European values among representatives of the state administration and ordinary inhabitants of Masty District.
Kulhei commented on the refusal in an interview with ERB:
Zmіtser Kuhlei: "The local authorities have never wanted to cooperate regardless of the announced liberalization course. The disguise was taken of after the last Lukashenka’s statement that the European Union would not be able to talk to him using the opposition’s notes. They were indicated that the domestic policy should not change”.
