Minsk Region Executive Committee: Half of Minsk Region believers are non-Orthodox
Only 51.7% of Minsk Region believers are Orthodox Christians. In other words, every second believer is non-Orthodox, states “Electronic Barysau”. The numbers have been announced by the head of the department for religions and nationalities of the Region Executive Commetees Leanid Parhimovich. He also noted that 253 out of 402 temples of the capital region belonged to the Orthodox Church.
The official made the speech at an out meeting of the collegium for religions and nationalities. It took place in Barysau at the beginning of October. Representatives of republican administrative organs, heads of departments for religions and nationalities of regional executive committees and of Minsk City Executive Committee, deputy heads and heads of ideology departments of district executive committees of Minsk Region took part in it.
