National Bank withdraws 45% of old money from circulation

Two weeks after the denomination, almost 45% of the 2002 banknotes have been pulled out of circulation, National Bank told ONT TV. Under the plan, ATMs will begin to issue the new money only already in late July.

The old Belarusian banknotes are destroyed in a special storage area at the National Bank of Belarus.

Before denomination, there were 600 million banknotes of the old type. They will be competely phased out of circulation towards the end of October 2016.
