Number of Belarusians seeking temporary employment abroad increased by 20%
The number of Belarusian citizens who go abroad for temporary employment with a help of Minsk firms has increased by 20% this year. According to the data provided by Minsk chief statistics administration, 2 987 people have left our country this way for the time period since January till September, reports BelaPAN. Belarusian citizens left for nine countries - Bahrain, Germany, Latvia, Libya, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Russia, United States and Czech Republic. The most popular countries in this regard are the US and Russia.
Young people at the age of 18-24 - mostly participants of youth and student programs - have made 68% of the total number of people going abroad for temporary employment. Belarusians prefer to go for seasonal jobs, for 1-3 months.
At the same time, 1 858 people have come to Belarus which is one third less than in 2009. They are mostly citizens of Turkey, Ukraine, Lithuania and Vietnam.
