Opposition members in Brest denied permit to stage picket in support of children
Social Democrats in Brest have been denied a permission to stage a picket on June 1 at a local stadium to mark the International Children's Day, Valiantsin Lazarenkau, a deputy chairman of the regional organization of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), told reporters.
The application was formally rejected on the grounds that a football match between Victoria and Dream Team was allegedly scheduled for the same hours.
