Opposition members to visit districts affected by Chernobyl disaster
A number of events dated for the 23rd year since the disaster at Chernobyl power plant will be organized by the democratic forces in Mahileu, Hrodna and Homel Regions. A meeting will be held in Homel on April 26 and a huge information campaign will be conducted throughout the region. The leaders of the UDF and the local regional coalition of districts affected by Chernobyl disaster is planned for April 24 and 25.
A picket in Astravets is appointed for April 25 in protest of the construction of a nuclear power plant there. A meeting of local inhabitants may be organized before it. A meeting in Mahileu has also been panned, reports BelaPAN.
