Paval Sevyarynets arrested for 15 days
Judge Tacciana Rybakova at Orsha District Court on March 13 sentenced opposition activist Paval Sevyarynets to 15 days of arrest. Radio Svaboda reports Sevyarynets was found guilty of the repeated violation of the procedures to organize mass events during the unauthourized March of Non-Parasites in Orsha.
Up to 1000 people took to the streets on March 12 in Orsha to protest against President's Decree No 3.
Three other opposition figures - United Civil Party chairman Anatol Lyabedzka, Movement for Freedom leader Yuras Hubarevich and Belarusian Christian Democracy co-chairman Vital Rymasheuski - were sentenced to 15 days of arrest for the similat protest that took place on March 10 in Maladziecna.
