Photo fact: Ales Byalyatski presents his new book in Minsk
The ex-political prisoner's book is called "The Quicksilver of Life. Human Rights Defender's Notes".
The letters that Ales Byalyatski sent to his friends and colleagues to freedom make the basis of the plot. The human rights defender describes not his prison adventures but the events that preceded his arrest.
According to Radio Liberty, during the presentation Ales Byalyatski joked that it was necessary to send the whole Union of Writers to prison so that new interesting works appear in the Belarusian literature. It is known that Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu wrote "Letters to Volya", Pavel Seviarynets - "Belarusian Depth", and Zmitser Dashkevich - "The Worm", after the imprisonment for the Square-2010 events.
