History in pictures: Popular Front founded 20 years ago in Minsk
The office was opened on July 9, 1993 in Varvasheni Street, 8 (renamed to Masherau Street later) in Belarus capital Minsk.
Minsk newspaper Holas Radzimy reported: “They received the premises in winter and volunteers of the Belarusian Popular Front "Revival" dedicated their spare time to putting it in order for several months... Everything was ready at the end of June.”
Party meetings, assemblies of many NGOs and civil initiatives, conferences and round-table discussions, expositions and presentations were organized in the main opposition office of the country. However, the party was ousted from the office in 2011. Party members left and took the door that had been made to order long before with them.
