Plaque in tribute to Ryhor Baradulin unveiled in Minsk

A plaque in tribute to Ryhor Baradulin has been attached to the poet’s house at Melezh Street, 4. He lived there for 34 years. The idea to mount the plaque was pronounced by journalist Hleb Labadzenka who raised money for it, Radio Liberty reports.
Labadzenka settled all the issues with the city authorities with the help of Ryhor Sitnits, chairperson of the Union of Artists of Belarus. The inscription on the plaque says that national poet Ryhor Baradulin lived and worked in that house in 1980-2014.
The bronze plaque has the 140x70 cm size and weighs more than 100 kg. It was made by sculptor Ihar Zasimovich.
