Poet Slavamir Adamovich to return to Belarus?
Belarusian poet Slavamir Adamovich who migrated to Norway in 2002 plans to return home, the poet told the European Radio for Belarus.
Belarus' foreign ministry advised Adamovich to approach the embassy in respond to his request:
"In order to receive a document for the return to the Republic of Belarus, you should approach Belarus's nearest embassy, i.e. Belarus' embassy in Sweden”.
Slavamir Admovich filed his application to the Belarusian embassy in Sweden several days ago.
Slavamir Adamovich is a poet who in 1990s spent 8 months in a KGB's detention facility for his poem "Kill The President!". In 2002 he went to Norway where he eventually was granted a status of political refugee. He currently lives in in the town of Buda, northern Norway.
