Police seize 2.4 mn liters of moonshine in 2008

The police in Belarus confiscated 2.4 million liters of home-made brews in 2008.  The law-enforcement agencies also detected nearly 186,000 offences which are subject to administrative prosecution for drinking alcohol or appearing under the influence of alcohol in public places.

5035 people, including 924 women, were forcefully taken to rehabilitation and correction facilities for numerous violations of the order under the influence of alcohol.
