Action in memory of Yury Zaharanka to take place in Hague on May 7
An action in memory of Yury Zaharanka who disappeared 12 years ago will take place in the Netherlands, near the International Court in the Hague, today.
Ex-Minister of Internal Affairs Yury Zaharanka was abducted not far from his own flat on the evening of May 7, 1999.
Zaharanka had been dismissed from the position of the Minister of Internal Affairs a few years before the abduction. The dismissal of the respected officer is said to have been connected with Zaharanka’s civil position as regarded Lukashenka and his inner circle.
Petrushkevich and Sluchak who investigated Zaharanka’s case had to leave Belarus after they had discovered some facts and published sensational information testifying to the existence of “a death squadron” in Belarus – an outlawed organization created by the existing regime to physically eliminate the otherwise-minded. Petrushkevich and Sluchak think that members of “the death squadron” are connected with the abduction of Yury Zaharanka, informs the press service of CIWR.ORG.
