Astapchuk's relatives: "Nadzeya says she will not go down"

The discussion of terms of Nadzeya Astapchuk's disqualification is not over yet, although the IAAF promised to announce their decision about a week ago.

The Belarusian sports officials already made their suggestions in this regard - 1 year for the sportswoman, 4 years for Coach Yafimau.

The foreign officials studied the documents of their Belarusian colleagues a month ago. However, they have not taken the final decision yet.

“This case is still being considered. No conclusions have been made,” – says press secretary of the International Federation Janis Nikalaou.

The issue of disqualification has been delayed for yet unknown reasons.

Only Nadzeya and her coach Yafimau can tell the truth, but they keep silence. The athlete does not respond to the phone calls even of close relatives.

"You know, after all this, she does not pick the receiver when I call her," - says Nina Kolbik, the athlete’s aunt from the village of Malya Arly, Stolin district.

Nadzeya speaks only with her father Mikalaj. He also does not answer the phone calls of unfamiliar numbers.

According to aunt Nina Kolbik, Nadzeya Astapchuk "holds on".

Nina Kolbik: "I will hold on, that's what she said. "I will never go down, I will cope with it." We are proud of her whatever happens."
