Bangladesh expects $1bn investment from Belarus - media reports
Belarus and Bangladesh are reportedly in talks to boost economic cooperation.
“The Belarusian government may invest a billion dollars," The Daily Star reports.
The money is supposed to be spent on agriculture, stockbreeding , final product, nutrition and light industry.
“The Belarusian delegation has got interested in using the country's potential in the field of dairy farming and producing farm animal feed as well as medicines for birds," reports The Daily Star quoting the secretary of the department of agriculture and cooperative societies Mihir Kanti Majumder.
Meanwhile, Minister of local self-government Jahangir Kabir Nanok thinks that "cooperation with the Belarusian government will hasten the economic development of Bangladesh".
Belarusian Ambassador to India Vital Pryma and director-general of Slutsk cheese-making plant Anatol Ststyatsko were members of the Belarusian delegation.
